ACCESS is currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles:
Mentors typically help our clients to achieve specific business objectives; however, sometimes they need only act as a source of much needed support during the loan repayment phase. Mentors offer a wide range of expertise and work one-on-one with our clients on an as needed basis. Mentors should have several years of business experience, as they will be required to speak with clients on topics such as marketing, finance and public relations. Additional language skills are a definite asset.
Volunteer Loan Officers
Loan Review Committee (LRC) members receive and evaluate business plans and loan applications, and build relationships with approved clients. The loan officer role requires a two year commitment of 6-10 hours per month (variable) and is a concrete way to directly impact the lives of underserved entrepreneurs across the Greater Toronto Area. Committee members are expected to review loan applications with thorough business analysis and, if applicable, client coaching. The entire committee meets on a monthly basis to review, and if relevant, approve loan applications presented by the lead officer from applicants from across the GTA.
